A warm welcome from the Skye and Lochalsh Arts and Crafts Association to our on-line showcase of members' work. The professional artists and craftmakers whose work is displayed here joined forces some twenty years ago, originally producing a publicity leaflet to assist the visitor in discovering the wealth of creative talent that had made Skye the Island and its surrounding area their full-time home.

Since those formative days, the Association has blossomed, both numerically and in ambition, and now represents about sixty artists and craftmakers, on line and in its much admired, and imitated, flagship booklet. The Gallery and Studio Trails Guide was first published in 2006, with the aim of encouraging the visitor to seek out some of the smaller studios and workshops offering very individual works, situated well off the beaten track, usually along winding one track roads. Now past its tenth anniversary, the trails booklet has become the benchmark for like-minded arts groups, and continues to promote artistic excellence. Your own copy can be downloaded by clicking on the Trails Guide icon below.

Follow our members' lively chat on Facebook, and sign up for our regular E-blasts by clicking on the icons on each page, ensuring you keep up to date with an Association of professional artists with the singular aim of promoting Skye and Lochalsh as Scotland's premier arts and crafts destination. We, as an organisation, are committed to assisting all our members in establishing a vibrant, professional and profitable visual arts community, with its own code of practice, living and working amongst some of Europe's most spectacular scenery.
